Hunt Companies Hawai‘i remains focused on completing a $40 million upgrade to a portion of Kalaeloa Town’s roadways.
Major construction on Copahee Avenue has recently been finished, with landscaping set to follow soon.
Currently closed to the public, Copahee Avenue has undergone extensive enhancements, including roadway upgrades, new sidewalks and street lighting, now meeting the latest City and County of Honolulu standards.
Hunt is optimistic that the City will officially accept the construction improvements before the end of 2025, allowing Copahee Avenue to open in early 2026.
The opening of Copahee Avenue will significantly enhance regional traffic flow by facilitating Hunt Focuses on Completion of $40 Million in Upgrades to Kalaeloa Town Roads access to the southern sections of Kamokila Boulevard and Boxer Road. Students and families of Barbers Point Elementary School will particularly benefit, as construction has temporarily altered travel patterns. Currently, the school’s only access is via Tulagi Avenue. Once Copahee Avenue reopens, school buses will return to their original route, and all other vehicle traffic will be directed to exit onto Copahee.
“We sincerely thank the community for its patience and understanding throughout the completion of these critical road improvements, which greatly enhance access and traffic flow within Kalaeloa Town,” said Steve Colón, president of Hunt Companies Hawai‘i.
