Every April, the 'ohana at Hunt Military Communities rolls up its sleeves for service in meaningful ways to support both the resident military and local communities, while honoring the Hawaiian culture and caring for this land.
The goal of Hunt Helping Hands is to give back to the communities where we live and work," explains Jeff Cho, vice president of operations. "By cleaning Kai Beach, we hope we are playing a small role in restoring the area for the people who make Hawai'i so special."
In late April of this year, the team cleaned Kai Beach, fronting the Community Center in the Ford Island Landing neighborhood.
Over several hours, Hunt Military Communities cleaned walkways of debris and filled six large rubbish bags with plastic pollution, which injures and kills marine mammals and seabirds.
Previous Hunt Helping Hands service projects have included other beach cleanups as well as painting Pearl Harbor Kai Elementary School.
