The Moss ‘ohana is proud to have completed Nā Hale Makoa, which is providing affordable housing to 140 local families on the Island of Hawai‘i.
The Waikoloa community on Hawai‘i Island has a critical need for affordable housing that allows residents to live close to where they work. Earlier this year, Hunt affiliate Moss & Associates marked the completion of a project that helps meet that need: Nā Hale Makoa, a $51 million, 140-unit housing complex.
“We are honored to partner with organizations like the Kamakoa Nui Ltd. Partnership that share our vision for building stronger, more inclusive communities for local families,” said Robert Tomas, project executive at Moss. “We believe that everyone deserves a quality place like Nā Hale Makoa to call home.”
Also completed in recent weeks is the first hotel complex in ‘Ewa Beach, a Moss partnership with Alaka‘i Development. Located next to the Hō‘ae‘ae Skyline rail station and across from UH West O‘ahu, the $81 million Hyatt House and Hyatt Place are companion properties under one roof that cater to different types of visitors.
Moss has long produced award-winning residential, commercial and institutional facilities in Hawai‘i. At the most recent General Contractors Association “Build Hawai‘i” Awards, three of its projects received Awards of Excellence:
Another Hunt affiliate, Hunt Capital Partners, syndicated the federal and state low-income housing tax credits for Phase III of Hale O Pi‘ikea. Hale O Pi‘ikea comprises affordable housing for 233 local families across its three phases.
