This year, Kalaeloa Town’s newest residents are expected to move in to their newly constructed homes at Ka‘ulu by Gentry, the latest residential community in Kalaeloa Town. In November 2023, Hunt Companies Hawai‘i’s President Steve Colón and Executive Vice President Paul Kay joined developer Gentry Homes and dignitaries to participate in a traditional Hawaiian blessing.
“This is a significant milestone for the future of Kalaeloa Town,” said Colón. “This blessing marks the start of a new residential community that will allow people to flourish in a place so meaningful to Hawai‘i’s culture and history.”
Over the next three years, Ka‘ulu by Gentry will evolve into a community of nearly 400 energy-efficient homes. Most of the community will consist of first-time homebuyers, with 87 homes reserved for buyers who make 140% of the area median income (AMI) or less.
Hunt Companies Hawai‘i entered into an agreement to sell 30 acres to Gentry Homes, Ltd. in 2020 to build Ka‘ulu by Gentry and to help create a thriving, multifaceted community in Kalaeloa Town.
