‘Ohana Military Communities is underway with a $1.5 million renovation project to transform an existing maintenance facility into a centralized warehouse, aimed at improving service to military families. The renovated facility is expected to be completed by summer 2025, allowing for quicker resolution of maintenance requests, big and small, for the roughly 1,000 homes in the centrally located neighborhoods.
The $1.5 million satellite facility is a key component in delivering faster, more efficient services to the residents of ‘Ohana Military Communities’ at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and Marine neighborhoods.
“We are very proud to offer 24-hour maintenance services to our residents, and this newly renovated facility will allow our teams to respond even quicker to every call,” explains Jeff Choi, vice president of operations for ‘Ohana Military Communities. “Once the new satellite facility opens, all materials and replacement components will be closer to our
Navy homes in Pearl City and Wahiawā – which will translate into shorter wait times and better experiences for our residents.”
The newly renovated Pearl City satellite facility will offer significantly increased interior and exterior storage for equipment, tools, appliances and even extra keys. (‘Ohana Military Communities’ staff responds whenever a resident of one of its 7,000 Navy and Marine residences is locked out of their home.) The warehouse will also include a carpentry workshop for specialty millwork when needed for residential neighborhoods. Office space is being redesigned with refreshed offices and meeting areas; upgrades will consist of new flooring, paint, ventilation and electrical systems. A newly built parking lot will accommodate nearly 30 company vehicles within a fenced area for secure overnight storage.
The new satellite facility will be constructed by local contractors, Lindemann Brothers and Landan Construction.
